This summer course aims to take a look into the world of stylists who design the most important fashion accessory: footwear.
Designing and creating a fashion shoe is not a simple task. It requires a combination of creativity, aesthetic taste, information on market and fashion trends, economic parameters and technical skills to develop projects and perfect fashion products.
Footwear designers plan and create the collections by developing a style theme, drawing sketches or developing models, using a selection of colours and materials. They are creative, curious, and have a strong sense of imagination that they use not just to create and design, but also to develop their ideas alongside pattern makers and the technical staff who make their creations reality.
They have to develop wide-ranging knowledge of all the fashion sectors and in-depth knowledge of the specific sector: technology and production, plus sales and marketing.
This is why, to really prepare yourself for this role it takes years of study and research. This short summer course is just a small taste of the fourth-year Footwear and Accessories Design course, which we invite you to look at.
I should choose the summer Footwear Design course:
• if I am interested in the figure of Footwear Designer and I need more information to finally make up my mind (if it really is the thing for me, if Polimoda can give me what I'm looking for, if I'm ready to invest my energy in this venture).
• if I have already decided to enrol on a fourth-year Polimoda course in Footwear & Accessories Design and I want to prepare myself for the entrance exam (for participants of the summer course there are special exams based on the work done during the course).

Admission is based on submission by candidates of a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter.

Our summer students will have the chance to participate (without extra charge) to Guest Lectures given by experts and teachers of the fashion industry.
Visits to Gucci and Ferragamo museums are included into the programs.
To welcome you Polimoda will have a (garden) party in Villa Favard!
