The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is considered the most important global forum on sustainability and the fashion industry, and this year has invited Polimoda’s Director, Danilo Venturi, to participate in The Academic Leaders Roundtable.
This marks the fifth edition of the Summit, and will be hosted by Amber Valetta, iconic model, actress and entrepreneur and Tyler Brûlé, Editor in chief of Monocle & founder & chairman of Winkreative. The focus this year will be on emphasising ‘the need for commitments from participants and will provide more solutions and tangible outcomes.’ Alongside prestigious speakers, including Miroslava Duma, Founder and CEO of Buro24/7 and Fashion Tech Labs Venture Inc., Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability Officer at Kering, Prabal Gurung, designer for his namesake brand, and Vanessa Friedman, Fashion Director & Chief Fashion Critic at The New York Times, Danilo Venturi will join his fellow leaders in fashion education to share ideas and experience on sustainable fashion education and practice.
The roundtable convenes some of the most influential decision-makers from across fashion education and industry and non-governmental organisations for an intimate discussion to inform the development of sustainability in global fashion.
The Copenhagen Fashion Summit will also host the I-Skool Denim Talent Awards in which 4th year Fashion Design student Farah Waly will present her work. Polimoda collaborators, Simone Cipriani, Head & Founder of the Ethical Fashion Initiative at the International Trade Centre and Creative Fashion Consultant, Julie Gilhart have also been invited as guest speakers to the Summit.
