Fashion Spaces is a one-of-a-kind chance for interior design and fashion lovers to follow a summer course set between Polimoda and the centennial KADK – The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, headquartered in Copenhagen. Fashion and Architecture share a long-standing common story: one dresses bodies, the other dresses places, both translate social evolution and cultural identity into tangible form.
The course is run by resident teachers and guest lecturers from the industry and will offer deep, state-of-the-art insight into the worlds of architecture, interior design, furnishing, and visual merchandising, whether it is for commercial spaces, art exhibits or fashion installations.
The curriculum allows to explore and experience the best of Scandinavian and Italian design and architecture in Copenhagen and Florence, from “Danish Modern” to “Made in Italy”. The course will be further enriched by field trips to concept stores, famous museums, and showrooms in Copenhagen and to fashion companies in the Florentine Area as well as visits to the Renaissance city’s museums – such as Ferragamo Museum and Gucci Garden – and full access to Polimoda’s library – one of the most important fashion libraries in the world.
The course also includes: a personal project; and an individual interview with a senior teacher from the course to assess your potential and further opportunities to continue in this field of study.
Participation in this course is an excellent initial stage of preparation in the fashion business, a course of study that may continue with the 4-year undergraduate program in Fashion Art Direction or with the 9-month master’s program in Fashion Retail Management.
