Fashion Photography offers a multidisciplinary approach in theory and in practice, in order to enter the world of fashion photography. The course looks at everything from the history of photography to the actual shot itself, including set and location studies, lighting management, the use of cameras, and casting. In this course, aesthetic sensitivity, colour theory, semiotic approaches and post production are essential training elements to form the personal taste needed to become a new creator of fashion imagery.
The curriculum includes: fashion photography; fashion art direction; press to impress; photology; study of pose; fashion budgeting; photographic production and post-production; casting management; colour theory; fashion trend forecasting.
The course also includes: a visit to the Gucci or Ferragamo museums; an international guest lecture by a fashion industry expert; a personal project; and an individual interview with a senior teacher from the course to assess your potential and further opportunities to continue in this field of study.
Participation in this course is an excellent initial stage of preparation in the fashion business, a course of study that may continue with the 4-year undergraduate program in Fashion Marketing & Communications or Fashion Art Direction or with the 9-month master’s programs in Fashion Marketing & Communications or Fashion Trend Forecasting or Fashion Styling.
